There are more DME modelers in more places than one might imagine. Many DSED members have met Brad Hinton of Canberra, Australia who has been part of operating sessions and TLR conventions. He has a wealth of research and information on his DME modeling project on his blog:   – check it out.

The meet fee at the door is $3.00. The meet will be held at the St. James Armory located at 521
Armstrong Blvd N. The event will run from 8 to 3 at the Armory and the St. James Model
Railroad Club and Depot will be open until 6. The meet will have four model railroad displays in
various scales and many vendors including the C&NWHS Company Store. The clinics are all
featuring many C&NW, M&St.L, & CGW topics.
The St. James Club will be celebrating its 25th anniversary this weekend. They will have its 25 X
40 ft. building open featuring Lionel, HO scale, and N scale operating trains. Adjacent to the
club is the Amboy Depot (C&NW), CGW caboose (In GN paint), tower and sanding tower.
The meet will have a popular vote model and photo contest. The categories are Diesel, Steam,
On-line Structures, off-line structures, rolling stock revenue & non-revenue, color photo, black
& white photo and a special C&NW category. This special category is open to any C&NW model
of structure, rolling stock, or locomotive. The popular vote contest is open to anyone attending
the meet.
If in need of lodging, St. James has a Super 8 Hotel located at 1210 Heckman Court. It is the only
lodging in town for those wishing to stay overnight. There is also a city-run campground
adjacent to the St. James Club and Depot area. This is a 21-camper site with all amenities for
$20.00 a night. This campground is on a first-come, first-serve basis. For more information go to
