Visit our Com-Ed Page here for for details and how to register! One of the projects the division does twice per year is to sponsor community education classes at the city’s Com-Ed program. Registered students receive a 12″ X 24″ T-Trak module for ‘N’ gauge size trains. All of the supplies needed to build their own module are supplied by the DSED division. They build their own module during the 4-week, one night per week course restricted only by their own imagination. This class is held twice per year. DSED will again be leading Community Education classes that feature the construction of N scale T-trak modules. In the spring of 2026, the class will run on Tuesday evenings in April. See the ComEd page for details and pics of previous classes.
The DSED is holding a workshop on building model railroad modules through the Sioux Falls, SD, school districts community education, ComEd, series of classes. The 2′ modules are for an N-scale model train layout, however, the lessons learned can be used in any scale or for other dioramas. The class is a 4-week session on Tuesday evenings beginning April 11, 2023. Three of the classes are hands on, where the participants will add track, wiring and scenery to a prebuilt module.
