Model Railroading 101 Workshop

The DSED is holding a workshop on building model railroad modules through the Sioux Falls, SD, school districts community education, ComEd, series of classes. The 2′ modules are for an N-scale model train layout, however, the lessons learned can be used in any scale or for other dioramas. The class is a 4-week session on Tuesday evenings beginning April 11, 2023. Three of the classes are hands on, where the participants will add track, wiring and scenery to a prebuilt module. COMMUNITY EDUCATION – BUILD A MODULE

Dakota Southeastern Division, DSED, members will be leading a community education class through the Sioux Falls, SD public school system on building a 2′ N-scale T-Trak module. Class participants will add track, wiring and scenery materials to a module which is theirs to keep at the end of the class. Classes are held on the last four Tuesdays in November 2022. In addition, there is an option for an advanced class that goes deeper into building a model railroad. These classes will be the first two Tuesdays in December 2022.
