The DSED is holding a workshop on building model railroad modules through the Sioux Falls, SD, school districts community education, ComEd, series of classes. The 2′ modules are for an N-scale model train layout, however, the lessons learned can be used in any scale or for other dioramas. The class is a 4-week session on Tuesday evenings beginning April 11, 2023. Three of the classes are hands on, where the participants will add track, wiring and scenery to a prebuilt module. The participants keep the completed module after completion of the classes. One of the sessions is a tour of two of the DSED members home model railroad layouts to gather ideas for their own module or future modules. At the last session, the modules are joined together to run trains.
